Hostel Clandestino is a charming spot with unique cabins and an inviting community atmosphere. While it's in a wonderful location and offers a genuine Nicaraguan experience, the lack of clear communication regarding transport options and some issues with bedding hygiene dampened the experience a bit. Overall, it’s a lovely place for a longer stay, especially if you're a traveler looking for a peaceful retreat.
I had a mixed experience at the hostel. The atmosphere was lovely, and I enjoyed the beautiful scenery and communal areas, yet communication issues regarding reservations caused quite a hassle. The lack of food options on-site was also a drawback, but the communal kitchen was a helpful alternative. Overall, it was a charming place to stay despite some bumps along the way.
Clandestino is a hidden gem that truly captures the essence of a jungle experience while being close to Playa Maderas. The atmosphere is magical, and the open-air facilities are unique. While the approach can be tricky, especially for those with larger luggage, the overall vibe makes it worth it. I absolutely loved the community environment, but it's important to note that it may not suit everyone, particularly those looking for luxury.
My stay was at a beautiful, relaxing spot surrounded by nature, about 25 minutes from San Juan del Sur. The open-air cabana was stunning, giving me a tree-top experience. However, the hike up the hill was a real workout, and hot water wasn't available, which may not suit everyone. Overall, it was a chill escape with great views, just be prepared for the walk and the heat.
My stay at this hostel was memorable! It's a hidden gem, just a short walk from the beach yet feels like a jungle retreat. The owners, Corinna and Stephan, truly made my experience special with their warm hospitality. However, I had a bit of a check-in mishap that put a damper on my first day.
